Go find the Cranford miniseries!

Is Colin Firth the only Mr. Darcy you acknowledge?  Do you recognize the name of Andrew Davies from his numerous BBC miniseries' writer's credit?  Do you enjoy a good period piece full of British accents?
You owe it to yourself to find the miniseries Cranford.

I've mentioned the BBC's production of North and South introduced me to Gaskell.  It is a wonderful series.  Well acted. Well written.  It balances the romance with the numerous other story lines and themes.  Somehow it gorgeously portrays the horrors of a cotton mill in the 1850's.  North and South may be easier to find.  It is currently on Netflix.
Cranford is worth looking for.  It is funny and romantic.  At times heartwarming and at times heartbreaking.  And when Judi Dench isn't necessarily the best actor in the scene, you know you have one amazing ensemble cast.
And did I mention it's funny?
